Thursday Night Football at Sapphire: New Orleans at Atlanta

mnftnfnfl

If you were to look at this game in August, the Saints and Falcons this facing each other this late in the season would almost certainly mean who wins the NFC South, and who will be one of the wild card teams. Unfortunately for Atlanta, it won’t be the case. Perhaps the most disappointing team in all of football, the Atlanta Falcons will have nothing but bitter rivalry pride to play for when Drew Brees and company come to the Georgia Dome. The Falcons are 2-8 and have been plagued by injuries all season long.

The Saints on the other hand are sitting strong at 8-2. Tight end Jimmy Graham has been phenomenal, Drew Brees is as accurate as ever and “The Dude” lookalike Rob Ryan has coached the Saints’ defense into much improved territory. New Orleans is the second placed team in the NFC, only behind Seattle. The Saints are keeping an eye on Carolina, who are only a game behind them and will face them twice in the final five weeks of the season.

With Carolina only a game back, Atlanta will surely love to play the role as spoiler to their hated rivals. New Orleans has the better record in the season, but Matt Ryan has had his fair share of success against the Saints. Get your tickets here to watch this NFC South showdown!
