It was another hilarious and magical night for the Sapphire Comedy hour on July 19. Donnie Johnson, Mike Shank, Chad Haskell, and Doug Canney took stage for some serious (and not so serious) entertainment!
Originally from Portland, OR, Donnie Johnson is a comedian based out of Houston. He’s been performing since 2002, making audiences crack up with his hilarious sense of humor.
From an early age Mike Shank was considered to be a “character”. As with everyone’s life he experienced the highs and lows from fatherhood to divorce. An insatiable urge for attention has followed throughout life. With age, the ability to expand on situations through humor accelerated. An uncanny ability to make people feel comfortable through laughter ensued.
Since day one, Chad Haskell has been told ‘no one likes a smart ass’ but this has never slowed him down. In early 2012, Chad finally decided to make a show of his one-liner, off-the-wall brand of humor. He has a slow, dry, laid-back delivery on topics which seem to only make sense if you’re paying close attention. Don’t blink or you’ll miss it!
Doug Canney grew up in the South but spent time up North with relatives every year. This influence shapes a good portion of his style and occasionally, you’ll hear the “Red Neck” come out in him. He has worked with Comedians from Comedy Central, HBO, BET, Letterman and the Tonight Show and can be seen in the Dark Comedy “The Brannigan Account”.
