Bitter AFC North rivals, Pittsburgh and Baltimore, will battle Thanksgiving night to claim sole possession of the last wild card spot in the AFC. Both teams are behind Cincinatti for the top spot of the division, but are not mathematically eliminated from the possibility of pulling out a division title. Pittsburgh started the season horrifically, especially when Offensive Coordinator Todd Haley and Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger feuding. However, winning can cure a lot of tension. Pittsburgh is 5-2 in the last 7 games.
Baltimore has been inconsistent this season. Joe Flacco, who acquired a huge contract after bringing Baltimore a title has played ineffectively for a majority of the season. Although he is on pace for more yards than last season, Flacco has just as many interceptions this season as he did all of last season with 14. Baltimore’s defense has remained steady after the release of Ed Reed and the retirement of Ray Lewis before the season started. Terrell Suggs and Elvis Dumervil have helped the Baltimore defense become the league leaders in sacks with 37.
When the Steelers face the Ravens, it is almost guaranteed to be exciting until the last drive. With a wild card spot on the line, expect this game to be no different. Luckily for you, Sapphire will be showing the game! Get your tickets here, and come support your team on Turkey Day!
