Rock in Rio 2015 - Brazil's most famous music festival is coming to Las Vegas and it is going to be a huge deal.
In 1985 a festival was born. In a country whose socio-political climate was emerging from military dictatorship, festival mastermind Roberto Medina hoped to deliver an event with personality and heart. Unable to find a place for his big idea to blossom he designed and built his own City of Rock, a 61-acre complex that was innovative as it was massive. His included a non-traditional lighting system that focused on not only the band but the audience -- a feature celebrating the fans, which has become a global trend.
The personality of Roberto Medina's Rock in Rio demanded an unforgettable line up. Since its creation, Rock in Rio has had the biggest names the music industry had to offer every year it has run. Check out some of the talent that has blessed the Rock in Rio stage below.
Queen, AC/DC, James Taylor, George Benson, Rod Stewart, Yes, Ozzy Osbourne, and Iron Maiden, plus some of Brazil’s top national stars, like Gilberto Gil, Pepeu Gomes, and Barão Vermelho.
